Edmonton Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System

Improve the quality of your Edmonton home’s water with a reverse osmosis water filtration system!

We all know that drinking water—and lots of it—is good for our health. It increases our energy, flushes out toxins, helps our digestive system and generally puts us in a good mood.

But being healthy is not just about drinking water; it’s about drinking pure, clean and safe water. Thanks to reverse osmosis water purifiers, you can turn your home’s ordinary water into fresh-tasting and high-quality water, all at the turn of a tap

What Is A Reverse Osmosis Water Filter?

Simply put, a reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system pushes unfiltered water through a thin membrane in order to trap and remove odours and impurities, such as nitrate sulfates, pesticides, lead, fluoride, and chlorine.

A reverse osmosis filtration system has several different applications. It can be installed under your kitchen sink—commonly referred to as a point of use filtration system—to provide your tap, fridge and even ice machine with clean and delicious drinking water. It can also tie into your main water line—also known as a point of entry filtration system—to provide all of the sinks, appliances, and showers in your home with filtered water. Certain systems are even large enough to provide businesses and institutions like restaurants and hotels with clean water – free from pollutants.

How Reverse Osmosis Works

Cold water enters the system and passes through one or more pre-filters. These usually consist of sediment filters that trap silt and dirt, and carbon filters that eliminate organic chemicals. The treated water then moves onto the hub of the unit: the semi-permeable membrane. This thin film membrane removes harmful contaminants and particles found in your water.

The filtered water that passes through the semi-membrane is sent to a storage tank, while the wastewater containing the filtered pollutants is sent down the drain line and is removed from the system. The water that leaves the storage tank will go through a final post-filter to remove any lingering impurities before exiting through your faucet.

Advantages

A reverse osmosis filtration system is one of the most popular and effective water purifiers on the market. This is because it offers an array of different advantages, such as:

  • Removes impurities and contaminants from your water
  • Improves the taste of your water
  • Fully automated
  • Easy to clean and maintain
  • Doesn’t consume energy
  • Reasonably priced
  • Compact size (depending on application)
  • More cost-effective than buying bottled water
